Your Treadmill has cost good money and it will last if you look after it correctly. Treadmills do require a little maintenance but it will save you money and headaches in the long run. To go directly to the treadmill page click below. http://precision-fitness.co.za/component/page,shop.browse/category_id,5/option,com_virtuemart/Itemid,1/Read on ... Check the following points : Make sure your treadmill uses its own plug. They dont like sharing power with other appliances and this can cause problems. If they are on a carpet place a rubber mat under the treadmill to reduce static and less carpet dust being sucked into the electronic components ie sensors etc. If you remove the plastic motor cover you can use a vacuum to suck up excess dust and keep this area clean. Lubricate the deck regulary ( read manual for recommended intervals , ususally once a month but depends on useage ). Keep tension on the belt as loose belts can be dangerous and slip when running . A loose belt also places extra strain on the motor. Stand on the side rails before starting your workout and allow speed to pickup before you start your run. Dead weight is more strain on your motor ( what if you weigh 150kg and the motor is small ? ) Try and keep your treadmil indoors . If outdoors a cover would be a good idea. I say this because i have seen many on balconies exposed to the elements and they get trashed outside.. bad idea. Keep your treadmill clean.. everywhere but more importantly enjoy your workout. |
